New Baking Classes Just Announced at Little Fox Kitchen in Cranford, NJ:
Savory Pastries: Sunday 12/28/25
Scone Secrets: Saturday 1/17/26
I’m Jenny. It’s nice to meet you!
I’m a baker, recipe developer and instructor based in Windsor, Vermont. Before I came north earlier this year, I spent years running my own micro-bakery in New Jersey, vending at farmers markets, making custom cakes, creative dessert spreads, breakfast pastries, cookies, snacks, candy, pies & pastries as A Butter Life Bakery. I also had the great please of teaching pastry classes at Little Fox Kitchen in Cranford, where I’ll be returning this winter as a guest instructor!
I’m a second career baker—my first career was as a producer, first in animation for kids programming in Los Angeles, and later in post-production & motion graphics in advertising in New York. When I left advertising, I took a pastry class at the Institute for Culinary Education just for fun, and fell hard for the craft. I love to eat, I love the work, I love to make things, and I love to bring people joy with food. Though I no longer run my own shop, I share my recipes & techniques in baking classes, and that brings me lots of joy.
I love to tinker around my kitchen as a cook and baker, testing new recipes and sharing my experiments with my family and friends. Hoping to shape those tests into content for this site in the new year.
The two questions I’m always asked are “What is your favorite thing to bake?” (A: cookies, all kinds) and “Do you really have to sift the flour?” (A: If the recipe says so, then it’s probably a good idea).
